busy busy busy. We were in the post office today. We were that family of children, who weren’t happy to be there. heh….. (we were there so long Trixie fell asleep)
I was so mad at Amazon, for making me pay for something that I never received, so I called them and they fixed it, no questions asked. I like Amazon again!

Off to a 3 year old’s birthday party. Trixie insisted that she wear a fancy dress, she’s wearing a very colourful pettiskirt.
Flight delayed another hour 3.5 total. Ugh

Was at the passport office at 8am this morning when they opened, but we were still 25th in line. Also was graced with a really really stunned passport guy.

pet sitter called and Chachi is sick. Luckily I have a super amazing friend who will take my pukey puppy to the vet. Here’s hoping it isn’t anything serious.
Dear Universe, you suck!
So I am grateful my children are healthy enough to tackle this horrible cold virus head on, I’m grateful I have super amazing friends who will visit my sick pets and keep them company, and one super de duper amazing friend who will clean up my pet’s various sick messes so I don’t have to come home and cry at the disaster.

Long crappy drive to Kelowna, Trixie’s ears wouldn’t pop so she complained most of the trip (understandably) Hudson was miserable for the last 2.5 hours of the trip. THEN! We get to where we are staying and Hudson face plants on the tile floor in the first 5 minutes, blood everywhere and his front teeth are noticeably shorter. GAH!
In Kelowna, going to the H2O Centre tomorrow, anyone want to join us?
Dear Dr.Google it appears Hudson has ripped his frenulum from his lip. Should I be worried? I finally got a good look at it tonight when he was sleeping
back in Calgary! Off to pick up my passport today, hopefully it’s ready, or I’ll be staying in Canada longer than expected!

Back to California today, I get to see my beasties and sleep in my own bed. bliss….
We’re home. It was a rough trip home, Trixie puked a lot, many times, the worst being just as we cleared security. ugh. On the good side though, she now has a cute new shirt!
Last night we went to bed early and all slept hard. So nice.

First day back in California, we celebrated by going to Hobees, the Korean market, Fry’s and Whole Foods. A lovely Californian day indeed!

In this episode Mama and Daddy Berkan bolt awake as baby Berkan pukes all over the bed. Mama exclaims “dang, I was hoping he wouldn’t catch it too!.” Then Mama and Daddy change the bed around the sleeping toddler who didn’t wake during the whole ordeal. (despite being moved many times to accommodate remaking the bed.
preschool debate is raging in my head again. leaning more towards not going next year. it’s all so confusing and perplexing to me. why is there preschool for 3 year olds anyhow?
RESOLUTIONS! I try not to make them, because I always feel obligated to make ones that are no fun. But not this year. This year I resolve to craft more (for myself and with my children) and drink more water.

Dinner is sauteed purple kale with caramelized onion dressing, baby balls and baked sweet potatoes. All from scratch! I love to cook!
Went a toured a preschool today. I wasn’t a fan, didn’t like how they talked about “training” children.
Went out and ran errands with Trixie, the running stream of hilarity that came from her was priceless. Everyone in earshot was giggling to themselves

It’s birthday party season! So many parties, so few weekends!
Kimchi is happily fermenting in the jar, it’s really garlicky and a little too sweet, but we’ll see how it turns out after a couple of days fermenting.
Earthquake! It felt like the washer was on the spin cycle. Even though we’ve lived here for 5 years (!) it still creeps me out, despite feeling one every couple of weeks.
4 birthday boys in my feed today! Happy birthday to Milo, Peter, Gavin and Kai. (so much cute in my feed today too!)
Hudson will stroke and caress my arm, face or chest to comfort himself (sometimes with a pinch thrown in for good measure) Trixie will play with my hair to comfort herself. Being a mama is pretty great!

At 6:30am Hudson woke up and announced: “Dada babo!” So Adam made him a bottle, he drank it and gave to me and said, “Mama, babo Dada”. (the first translates to Daddy, will you please get me a bottle to satiate the thirst I have? and the second was, Mama, kindly pass this empty vessel to Daddy so he may place it somewhere safe so we don’t roll on to it.)
that’s all, but perhaps I will do it every 2 weeks, this has been a long post!
